Talking Water Gardens...

talk4

Good Morning...Beautiful Summer Morning!!

I have promised my dear friend Janet...for such a loooonnnnggggg, long time that I would take her for a morning walk to Talking Water Gardens....
with our camera's...of course! :)

It was the perfect summer morning to do just that...a few fluffy clouds in the blue, blue sky, so not too warm!

Talking Water Gardens is actually quite an amazing place for where we live!

Where my husband is employed, it draws water from the Willamette River, uses it for all its processes, and then the cleaned and filtered water is actually cleaner than when it came out of the river. The problem was, it was too warm to put back into the river directly, so the plan was to have a place the water could be cooled naturally...and that is how we have Talking Water Gardens!

Over 2 miles of a wonderful walking and biking path that is so enjoyable to explore  beauty and nature!

 Quite a treat!

Every corner you walk around there are waterfalls, ducks, lily pads, beautiful grasses, wild sweet peas and other beautiful wild flowers, birds, ponds, sitting benches and rocks, and lots of bridges for little ones to run over.

The water is piped in from the main plant...almost 2 miles away.

And on the average, 3 million gallons a day are pumped into Talking Water Gardens...and some pumped in also from the City of Albany.(My hard-working husband calculates all of this on his job):)

As we walked, we listened to the big bull frogs...the sweet chirping of the birds...and a train or two going by.

Loved the Queen's Ann Lace and of course these wild sweet peas.

We came upon TWO TURTLES sitting on this log...before I could snap the picture, one had already dived into the water...can you see where he went in?

It was a delightful blessing to be able to enjoy some of God's beautiful creation...and a Corporation providing an amazing way to return the water they had used.

It was starting to warm up by the time we finished...good thing we came fairly early in the morning. We saw  many people out for a beautiful summer morning walk!
