Have you ever awoken
in the morning
and a big wave of discouragement
and dismay just washes over you?
I experienced that a few weeks ago...and it hit me so by surprise. Not that it never happens, but that I had gone to bed not feeling any of those emotions of discouragement and then just woke up and here they were in my lap! :(
Though we do have an ongoing hard and painful situation in our family,
that we are asking God to touch with His healing hand,
I wondered what had triggered such feelings of despair for that morning,
concerning this situation.
I wondered what had triggered such feelings of despair for that morning,
concerning this situation.
As I began to make my coffee,
I glanced out my kitchen windows and noticed a beautiful glow from the sun beginning to come up from the east....but then looking toward the west, oh boy...it did not look good.
Very, very dark.
(Oh, could I relate)
(Oh, could I relate)
I was thinking that, that sun had better hurry up,
or it was going to get overtaken by that gigantic darkness looming ahead.
As my coffee began perking,
I glanced out the windows again...
and what a display of glory I was being treated to!!
The darkness actually accentuated
the glow and light from the sun,
turning the sky into this glorious and spectacular sight!!
And very quietly I heard the Lord whisper in my heart...
that in our darkest times
our lives can bring Him
the greatest glory!
our lives can bring Him
the greatest glory!
And of course...I have heard similar examples,
but never so powerful, as in the moment of deep need, and spoken to my heart.
but never so powerful, as in the moment of deep need, and spoken to my heart.
What encouragement and peace and joy!
Such a blessing...and it has continued to bless me as I have looked at these pictures of that fabulous sunrise that spoke volumes to my heart...
and most of all that Still, Quiet Voice that always comes at just the right moment!
Pressing on in the New Year!
Happy New Year and blessings to you!!
